Shigeyuki Kinjo scored a game-high 35 on Saturday, then dropped in 21 on Sunday to lead the Okinawa squad. Jeff Newton tallied 25 points and 19 rebounds Sunday, with Anthony McHenry close behind with 18 points and eight rebounds. The Five Arrows are now 32-16. The Oita HeatDevils busted a 15-game losing streak Sunday, upending the Shiga Lakestars 76-69 in an on-the-road contest. Shiga had won Saturday’s contest 89-74. Oita is now 8-40 on the season, while Shiga sits at 18-30.The Toyama Grouses, though, couldn’t find a way to win, extending their losing streak to 15 at the hands of the Tokyo Apache. Tokyo won Saturday’s contest 79-68, then slammed the Grouses 106-81 Sunday, as all members of its team scored points. Tokyo is now 30-18, while Toyama drops to 18-30. The Niigata Albirex BB picked up a 97-86 win on Sunday over the hometown Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix after a Saturday loss, 88-75. Niigata’s now 23-25, while Hamamatsu drops a notch to 32-16. The Sendai 89ers picked up a pair of victories over the Saitama Broncos, 88-80 and a blowout 91-66. Sendai is now 28-20. The Osaka Evessa swept a series from the Rizing Fukuoka, winning 82-78 and 93-80. The Evessa squad is now 31-17,while Fukuoka falls to 20-28. |
