Marine killed in explosion in Central Training Area

One Marine was killed, one Marine seriously injured and one Sailor injured in an explosion at a demolition range in the Central Training Area today at 11:15 a.m.

The service members were part of an explosive ordnance disposal team preparing unexploded ordnance for disposal when the explosion occurred. The incident took place within the confines of the Central Training Area near Camp Schwab and there is no danger to the local community.
The incident is currently under investigation.
