Fukuoka is 0-6 against the Golden Kings this season. Newton racked up 36 points and 28 rebounds in the two contests, while Kinjo scored 39 points including a team-best 22 in Saturday’s squeaker. Elsewhere, the Hamamatsu Higashimikawa Phoenix 10-game win streak snapped Saturday as the Sendai 89ers rolled to an 88-79 win. Undaunted, the Phoenix roared back with an 81-79 victory over Sendai on Sunday. The Takamatsu Five Arrows scored a pair of wins from the Oita HeatDevils, victorious 83-79 on the road in the first weekend game, and 95-82 on Sunday. The wins boost the Five Arrows record to 21-9. The Osaka Evessa split a pair with the Shiga Lakestars, winning 82-69 on the road Sunday after being hit with an 84-78 loss a day earlier. The Toyama Grouses made the home fans happy last weekend, winning twice over the Saitama Broncos, 76-70 in Saturday’s contest and 86-83 on Sunday. |
