Date Posted: 2009-02-05

The Korinza Building on Okinawa Cityís Chuo Park Avenue hasnít had good news for a long time, but now officials are smiling over plans for a company to set up a call center in the economically challenged building.

Located on what was formerly called Business Center Street, or B.C. Street, Korinza has gone through various business tenants as it tried to make its mark on Okinawa City. Most failed or were marginally successful. The withdrawal of consumer home electronics giant Best Denki from Korinza left plenty of free space.

The new occupants at Korinza will be Trans Cosmos CRM Okinawa, which has announced plans to set up a call center and a call center operations company in the building. The Korinza Building Operating Company, which owns the building as a third sector Okinawa City entity, says the lease has been accomplished and that the call center will begin operating in April.

Plans call for more than 300 workers at the new call center. Originally, he company established the call center with 15 workers who are now at another Okinawa City location. Expansion requirements led to the deal with Korinza, a ten-year contract.

Trans Cosmos CRM Okinawa says the business already has four call centers in Okinawa, with more than 2,300 workers. The call centers answer questions and handles requests about business. The company says it wants to increase company strength by another 700 employees before the end of the year.
