‘Meet the Raptor’ Day shows off F-22 Friday

Date Posted: 2009-01-29

It’s a ‘first’ at Kadena Air Base; the Air Force’s super stealth F-22 Raptor will be open to public viewing on Friday.
The event sponsored by the 18th Wing and the 27th Expeditionary Fighter Squadron is a ‘Meet the Raptor’ Day from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday at the Marine Wing Liaison Kadena (MWLK) hangar located off Douglas Boulevard, just past the Lemon Lot. All members of the military communities are encouraged to show up, talk to pilots and maintainers, and learn more about the Air Force’s most advanced fighter and its mission in the Pacific.
‘Meet the Raptor’ Day is open to all SOFA status personnel on Okinawa, including family members, as well as Japanese employees with Kadena base access. Photography will be permitted.
Parking is limited around the MWLK hangar, so attendees are encouraged to park in the lot across from the Erwin PME Center on Arnold Avenue and walk down to the MWLK hangar. A shuttle bus provided by 18th LRS will also be available to transport people from the PME Center parking lot down to the hangar.
For those with questions, call 634-1509 for information, or email beth.gosselin@kadena.af.mil.
