Inexpensive fees make US LAND sheer funDate Posted: 2009-01-15    Unlike most amusement centers that charge a set fee, i.e. ¥200 for 20 balls at a batting cage, US LAND charges by time, meaning the ¥105 fee for 15 minutes would permit roughly 100 balls to be hit. It’s that way with all games at Amusement Kingdom US LAND, including batting, fishing, billiards, table tennis, electric darts and karaoke. For the kids, add a jungle gym, racing, music and gun games, trampoline, bungee trampoline, pool boats, a kids train, and internet, all for a price that’s about 500% the value of other amusement centers. There’s something for everyone; kids can be playing on the jungle gym while dad’s at the batting cage, and mom’s enjoying karaoke, after which everyone takes their turns on the trampoline. The jungle gym is the largest in Okinawa, and the playground slide is four stories high. Yasushi Masumoto says US LAND’s concept is to “Happily, cheaply play”. The US LAND president, who hails from Kyoto, opened Amusement Kingdom US LAND Futenma four years ago, and is pleased with the way people flock from all over Okinawa to the Amusement Kingdom. A first time registration fee is ¥315. From there, the normal charge is ¥105 for 15 minutes. ¥300 for a day for kids 3-6. Special packages are available at ｴ980 for three hours, normally ¥1,260, and six hours for ¥1,480, reduced from ¥2,580. US LAND is open weekdays 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., and 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. on weekends. To get to US LAND, go south past Futenma Shrine towards Hwy 58 along the fence of Camp Foster Futenma Housing Area.
