Okinawa to host October Jaycees Convention

Date Posted: 2009-01-08

A theme of ‘being strong to be a gentle person’ will lead the Fall convention of the Japan Junior Chamber of Commerce.
The 58th Nationwide Convention will be held in Naha City, drawing 20,000 Jaycees and another 20,000 family members to the meet under the slogan ‘To help each other’. Organizers say they’ll pray and take oaths toward a peaceful world in beautiful Okinawa.
The Jaycees have devised a convention logo depicting three humans drawn in one line, with each human’s center with a heart mark, an indicator people of the world have different hearts, but the differences can be resolved to make one heart together. The logo was drawn by Meguru ishida of Ginowan City.
Jaycees and the local hosts say to make the convention successful, it will require the support of individuals, groups, companies and you.
The convention is expected to promote tourism and boost the economic environment on Okinawa. Officials say they expect the convention to directly and indirectly bring more than 1 million tourists to the Okinawa Prefecture.
