Schwab’s own budding Country star to perform for Kadena and Foster CrowdsDate Posted: 2002-01-31 ![]() After finishing his album, he copied 350 CDs in his room using his computer’s CD burner, but the work was tedious so Daryl went in search of outside help. In July 2001, he went home to a studio in Mobile Alabama and had his music professionally mastered by Ray Norman of Dogwood Productions. After fine-tuning each track on the album, Dogwood Productions recorded 1,000 copies for him. He has since used the copies to reach out to record companies in search for a deal and has been selling his albums at BXs and PXs around the island. For your chance to meet Daryl up close and personal, be sure to drop by his performance and CD signing at the Kadena BX on Saturday, February 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. Daryl is leaving Okinawa for his new duty station in 29 Palms on February 23. Once he arrives, he hopes to form a band and work on his next album, which he hopes to release by Fall 2002. He is considering reenlisting in the military, but says it depends on whether he can be stationed near a college where he can finish his degree. However, his major is in Music Business and Recording Engineer so, as there aren’t many colleges offering this degree, this may be difficult. He hopes to finish his degree by the time his next enlistment is through and then wants to work at a studio or record label in Nashville, Tennessee or another city with a booming music scene. Be sure to check out budding country musician Daryl Myers as he performs at the Foster and Kadena Exchanges. For more information on Daryl Myers check out www.darylmyers.com. |
