She has been on Okinawa only two months, and says that although Okinawa has turned out to be a little different from what she expected, it’s all for the better. “I thought the climate here would be unbearable hot and humid all year around, but the winter has proven to be extremely comfortable with great weather overall,” she says. She says that she has not had a chance to try many Okinawan foods yet as she has been here only so short a time, but she has been to Sam’s-by-the Sea, and not only was their food superb but “their service was amazing and very attentive.” As an avid shopper she says that “I love Naha and the many stores there.”

Debbie Tomas from Los Angeles, CA, has been on Okinawa almost two and half years. She is the winner of free tickets to the Christmas Fantasy in Okinawa Zoo Park. She says that she heard much positive thing about Okinawa before actually moving here with her family. “Everyone I spoke to who had been stationed here absolutely loved it, and I would definitely agree that this island is a great place to live,” she states. She says that her favorite place to eat here is the Try Yakiniku Viking Restaurant. She also says that she loves shopping at Jusco. “Okinawa has helped me to appreciate life and the beauty of it. To relax and take things slow in the island way,” she says.
