Hair salon fuses American and Japanese styles

Date Posted: 2008-12-19

A Los Angeles hair salon that brought Japanese styles into vogue in the United States, then went a step farther by starting a trend toward eye-catching designs combining Japanese and American trends, is now open on Okinawa.

Arukas Hair Resort has made its debut in Chatan Town’s Mihama District, offering services in the relaxed ambiance of a spacious, interior. It’s signature styling is the fusion trend of American and Japanese cuts and shapes, the same styles that are sweeping the international fashion field.

Two popular new services are being offered at special prices through December. The Head Spa, an aromatic massage and scalp cleansing that promotes healthy hair growth, offers an invigorating tone with the fragrance of French aromatic essential oils. The treatment is being offered at a ¥1,000 discount, or more when combined with the Head Spa Campaign, a combination cut and head spa. The cut is only ¥1,500 when combined with the head spa, a ¥2,000 saving.

Arukas Hair Resort is located in Seaside Square, a retail complex located by Makeman Mihama. The salon is open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with last customer seating at 8 p.m. Arukas closes an hour earlier on Saturdays, Sundays and Japanese holidays. The salon is closed Tuesday this month, but on Mondays starting in January.

Information and appointment reservations are available at (098) 926-3902. Arukas Hair Resort is also on the worldwide web at http://www.arukas-hair.com.
