American skips out on taxi fare on Kadena Air BaseDate Posted: 2008-08-06 The Sunday afternoon incident occurred when the man took a taxi from Agena area to Kadena, entering the base before telling the driver to “wait a while. I need to go to an ATM and get money.” The driver agreed to wait, and wait, but the taxi passenger never returned to pay his fare. The driver called police, who are now searching for the man who skipped out on the ¥930 fare. He is described as a heavy-set white male with a long hair, believed to be in his 30s, and about 5 feet and 8 inches tall. He was wearing a white T-shirt and khaki pants. |
