Japan Update upgrades MyJU service to be user friendlyDate Posted: 2008-07-01 Japan Update technical staff have been toiling with the computer programs for months now, creating an improved version offering classified advertisers direct control over their advertisers. “It’s exactly the way it should be,” says publisher Kari Valtaoja. “It’s no longer necessary for advertisers to email our webmaster with every little request for classified ad text or image updates, or ad deletions.” Newly added features programmed into MyJU permit advertisers to see the number of days remaining on free, priority and business ads. Individuals taking advantage of free ads may now rest the days remaining, so they stay online an additional seven days. Free, priority and business ads have been given a control facelift, too. Advertisrs now have the ability to remove free, priority and business ads. They can also update priority gold, business gold, business elite and image plus ads. Valtaoja, who is excited that “our users are now able to take control of their ads,” points out that advertisers also have the ability to update image files for priority gold, business elite and image plus ads. “It’s a win-win situation for everyone,” says Valtaoja. “We have made it easier for our users to maintain their own ads, but we have also freed up a lot of our time that had been spent modifying ads.” He says the improved version of MyJU “is just the beginning,” promising to “continue adding new capabilities to MyJU.” Valtaoja cautions, however, that –as everyone who has ever touched a computer already knows—it is “likely there may be a few bugs or glitches in the new software.” He asks anyone who notices a problem to report them to the webmaster@japanupdate.com. For those who haven’t experienced MyJU, Valtaoja urges readers to take advantage of the online service. “It’s easy to register your own free account,” he says, “by going to www.japanupdate.com/myju/. |
