Boy survives fall from seawall into ocean

Date Posted: 2008-06-13

A ten-year-old boy is lucky to be alive today after miraculously surviving a fall from a Nago City seawall and being swept out to sea.

The victim and a friend were playing on the seawall in the Agarie area, climbing stairs that go up the wall, when he slipped and plummeted into the ocean, where a high wave swept him away. The friend called authorities, who quickly brought rescue teams to the scene.

The boy was found unconscious, face down in the water, and was given artificial respiration that brought him back to life. Officials credit quick action by both rescue workers and the ambulance team in saving the boy’s life.
