Masked thieves rob Misato coffee shop at knifepoint

Date Posted: 2008-04-25

Okinawa City Police are on the lookout for a pair of men who staged a late night robbery at a local coffee shop in the Misato area.

The two men entered the coffee shop through a rear door, demanding money. Both were wearing sunglasses, caps and masks. “Don’t look at our faces, just give us money,” one robber told the clerk as he brandished a knife. The men were speaking in Okinawa dialect, the coffee shop employee told police.

The men made away with ¥200,000 after telling customers to “stay in one place. Don’t move.” Police say they’re searching for two men, one tall and one average size.
