Katsuren fire destroys house, leaves two charred corpses

A fire broke out in a concrete house in Katsuren Town on Jan. 26, destroying the entire living room and leaving two dead bodies in its wake. Authorities found the charred remains of 86-year-old Matsu Nakamasu and her son Jitsuo, 57, in the smoldering ruins Gushikawa police and the Yokatsu Fire Department are investigating the causes of both the blaze and the deaths.
