Marine jazz combo to perform classics at Koza Music Town

Signature tunes from some of the world’s best known jazz arrangers and musicians will headline a performance Saturday evening a Koza Music Town.

The Jazz Combo, part of the III Marine Expeditionary Force Band stationed at Camp Foster, will belt out the works of Chick Corea, Miles Davis, Freddie Hubard, Carlie Parker, Thelonius Monk and others during the concert, which begins at 6 p.m. The concert is free and open to the general public.

This year’s jazz combo has Gunnery Sergeant Raul Caldera on saxophone, Staff Sergeant Michael Bailey playing guitar, and Sergeant Keith Cavey on piano. Sergeant Jams Greathouse handles the percussion while Corpora Michael Matarazzo plays trombone. Lance Corporal Steve West has the bass guitar, Lance Corporal Leonard Maxey Jr. the trumpet, and Lance Corporal Andy Ariza rounds out the percussion section.
