Mihama Dai-san Park a perfect place to unwind after shopping

Date Posted: 2008-03-21

Itís close to the beach, close to a major shopping area, itís clean and itís a green oasis.

That best describes Mihama Dai-san Park, tucked away close to Mihama Carnival Park near Camps Foster and Lester. Visitors say the park is a wonderful place to kick back and relax on the green grass, letting those happy feelings tickle their way up through the toes and into the entire body. The idyllic setting with trees, plants and flowers is appealing to weary shoppers, who like to just sit and Ďdo nothingí.

The giant rock is a drawing point for countless visitors who just like to get close, touch it, and of course, have their pictures taken next to it. Mihama Dai-san Park has rest room facilities, and parking is nearby at the giant parking lot in front of the Jusco Shopping Center.

Mihama Dai-san Park is a fun place, but youngsters and pets need to be watched as they play near the front of the park, which is adjacent to a busy street with fast-moving traffic.

To visit Mihama Dai-san Park, drive Hwy 58 to Camp Lester Hospital Gate and turn towards the ocean at the traffic light. Pull in to the giant Jusco Mihama parking lot and park toward the Big Echo Sign on the other side of the canal. After parking walk over the small one-way bridge and the Mihama Dai-san Park is next to the Big Echo karaoke shop.
