Wallet thief nabbed in Yonabaru Pachinko parlor

Date Posted: 2008-03-17

Teamwork between a man whose wallet disappeared while he was playing pachinko at a Yonabaru Town parlor, the pachinko parlor staff, and police has led to the arrest of the 65-year-old thief.
The 64-year-old customer didn’t realize he’d lost his wallet while playing the machines, but turned to the pachinko parlor staff for help once he did. Video surveillance cameras were screened and the wallet theft captured. The thief, Kiyoshi Omine, had taken the wallet and fled the Yonabaru location, but the victim got a good look at him on the video.
Angry at having had his wallet stolen, the victim began searching for Omine at another pachinko parlors in the area. Days later, in Haebaru Town, Omine was spotted by the victim. “He’s here now,” the victim told police. “Please come.” They did, and Omine was arrested. “Yes, I took the wallet,” Omine told police. “I knew it was his, but I didn’t give it back. Instead, I put it into my pocket.”
