Base taxi rides an even better value

Date Posted: 2008-02-14

The word ‘FREE’ tends to get peoples’ attention, and that is exactly what the Army Air Force Exchange Service is doing in focusing attention on base taxi services.

Base taxis operate across the island, serving the military community, but AAFES wanted to go a step further than simply getting customers from Point A to Point B. The new ‘FREE’ program is simple: Take seven taxi rides and keep the receipts, then turn the receipts into a free Combo Meal at any of more than a dozen AAFES restaurants, or pick up a free haircut coupon.

Taxi customers should ask for their receipt each time they travel. When they have accumulated seven, visit the customer service department at AAFES PX or BX facilities on Camps Schwab, Hansen, Courtney, Foster or Kinser, or Futenma Marine Corps Air Station, or Kadena Air Base, or Torii Station, and redeem the receipts for the meal or barber coupons.

‘Free’, says AAFES, is another way of better serving those who serve.
