Cops searching for man puncturing tires

Date Posted: 2008-01-24

More than a dozen cars were attacked by an ice pick wielding man Sunday night, the second series of attacks in less than two weeks, and Ginowan Police are looking for the culprit.

Police say they’re looking for a man believed to be 50~60 years of age in connection with the tire puncturing of 15 parked cars in a four-hour period late Sunday evening in the Futenma area. A car owner saw the man carrying an ice pick running away from the scene. He told investigators the man was “a little fat” and had short silver hair.

Ginowan Police say another rash of tire puncturing took place January 11th and 12th in the Nodake area, with 17 cars involved. They say the puncture marks in both series of attacks appear to be from the same type sharp object, which fits the description of an ice pick.
