Mihama Carnival Park changes hands again

Date Posted: 2008-01-17

It was big news last November when Chatan Town announced a new owner for the popular Mihama Carnival Park.

Revelations this week that Lisa Partners, a business special investment company, had bowed out of the deal and an Okinawa company has now purchased the 6,664m2 amusement park and its buildings. The new owner is Dime Trust Island, a resort development and real estate business based in Naha City.

Chatan Town, which built the American Village and Mihama Carnival Park on reclaimed land, says the sale was accomplished late last month. Dime Trust Island says it will construct a new building at the site, and will also renovate the existing facilities.

Dime Trust Island has already begun a campaign to solicit new business tenants for the Mihama Carnival Park.
