Marine Arrested for Entering A Parked Car

Date Posted: 2003-08-30

The Marine Corps’ Provost Marshal Office (PMO) arrested a 19-year-old Marine over the weekend on suspicion of entering a parked car on a private residence parking lot in Uechi, Okinawa City, Saturday. The action came in response to a request from the Okinawa City Police Department.

Police are considering the incident an attempted theft, and intend to send the case to the Prosecutor’s Office once the investigation is complete. The police say car owner noticed the Marine entering the passenger side of the unlocked car and searching inside. When the owner came out, the Marine fled. The owner then called the police who requested the help of the PMO. The MP’s nabbed the Marine about an hour later as he entered Camp Foster in a taxi.
