Como Café serves as fashionable furniture showcase

A new café style restaurant recently opened on Kokusai street in the heart of Naha city. Como Café is a stylish place with a bit of a retro/modern design concept. Here, you can enjoy a quaint meal while bossa nova plays in the background. Also, fashion, design, and other types of books are set throughout the restaurant to perk your interests while you eat. The restaurant itself serves as a showcase for an even bigger project–Como Concept, a new furniture store selling smaller items such as tables, dressers, chairs, and lights. Como Concept is located in the same building as Como Café and is a must see! All of the furniture sold has a very original fashion and sense about it, so if you’re looking for something to fit your style, this might be the place.

Before heading off on a furniture shopping trip, though, drop by Como Café and enjoy a small meal. The restaurant is set up with the same furniture that is sold in Como Concept, so you can really get a taste for how their furniture would look in your house. Perhaps you’ll see a table setup at Como Café you really like. After you’re done eating, point out the table setting to the Como Concept staff and they can probably help you find the same or similar furniture for sale in their shop.

I visited Como Café during their lunch hours, so their menu was limited to two meals: a pasta set or a pizza set. Both sets come with either pizza or pasta, salad, soup, coffee or tea, and three pieces of cake at the end of the meal. Priced at ¥1,000, this lunch special is a steal. I ordered the pizza set which comes with the chef’s special pizza. Today the special was seafood pizza which was actually quite good if you don’t mind eating clams, squid, and shrimp on a pizza. The lunch was huge. It was much more than I usually eat for lunch.

Como Café has lunch hours from noon to 6 p.m. followed by dinner from 6 p.m. to midnight. They also have a cake time from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. This cake set costs ¥800 and comes with coffee or tea. If you pay an extra ¥100, you can drink all you can drink coffee, tea, or soft drinks. During dinner hours, the restaurant has an extensive menu with items such as pork and mushroom on boiled rice, penne pasta with anchovies, tomatoes, and spicy pasta, oven fried inshore fish with herbs, fried chicken, and more. The menu is all in Japanese except for the drink menu, but there are pictures for many of the items so you should be able to get by pointing. The staff is very friendly and courteous.

Como Café certainly is a pleasant place to eat a meal with a friend or loved one. The meals are all quite generous and the food is original and delicious. The atmosphere was ideal for conversation. Also, the table setups gave me many various fashion design ideas for my apartment. This is certainly an interesting place to dine. Also, the Como Concept furniture store had a great selection of modern furniture to choose from. I’m sure this new Como duo will be quite popular for years to come.
