Uragahama Park perfect for sports enthusiasts

Date Posted: 2008-01-04

There’s a baseball field, soccer pitch and a large athletics area at Uragahama Park in Okinawa City, just the ticket for the sports minded gang.

The park is ideal for adults wanting to play team sports, or for those seeking a place to play croquet. There’s wide open space for dogs to exercise, and families can bask in the ocean view, enjoy fresh air and catch a few rays of sun. Uragahama Park has no playground equipment for children, but does have a sandbox.

Uragahama Park has no rest room facilities or parking areas, but there is parking available nearby.

A visit to Uragahama Park begins at Kadena Gate 2, traveling straight past Koza Junior High School, continuing past Takahara Intersection until the San-A clothing shop appears on the left side. Turn left at the Mosburger Awase branch, then go straight past Jusco Gushikawa branch to Yokatsu city. Go up and over the hill, then turn right, then make an immediate left turn. The road is straight to the park from there, with a sign showing Heshiki fishing port while approaching Nohen Bridge. When passing the Tokumine Suisan, turn left and the park is dead ahead.
