Six punished for stealing kids’ school lunch moneyDate Posted: 2007-12-28 Two workers who the Naha City Board of Education investigation revealed had stolen ¥2.1 million in July and another ¥590,000 in children’s school lunch money from an elementary school have been fired. Four other workers had salaries garnished, and all received strong letters of reprimand. Chijo Toubaru, the chairman of the Board of Education, apologized for the part-time workers’ conduct. “We’re really sorry we couldn’t find out and noticed these people were pocking the school children’s money. It’s also our fault we couldn’t find out.” |
