Iishi-nu-meh Park is down home fun

Date Posted: 2007-12-14

A visit to Uruma City’s Iishi-nu-meh Park is like taking a trip back into the past.

Used car tires hanging, waiting for visitors to hop on and swing, just as kids big and small have been doing for decades. Iishi-nu-meh Park also has regular swing, as well as other fun playground equipment for children. The animal seesaw and slides are popular, and there’s always the excitement of hanging rope slides.

Iishi-nu-meh isn’t a big park, as parks go, but it has plenty of open green space to spread the blanket and have a picnic. The park also has three covered lounge areas. Iishi-nu-meh is a safe mecca for the pint size visitors, with special playground equipment just for them. There are rest room facilities in the park.

To visit Iishi-nu-meh Park, exit Kadena Gate 2 and go straight, past the Goya Intersection, then continue down hill road. As you see the Esso gas station on the left, and Eneos on the right, take a left turn, then continue past Teruya Intersection. Continue straight until you see Miyazato AU shop. Pass it, go up and over the slope, and you’ll see a Family Mart on the right. At that traffic light, make a right turn and go one block. The park is on the left side. There is no parking lot at this park.
