Exchange New Car Sales On-Island Delivery ProgramDate Posted: 2007-12-14  Most service members are restricted from bringing their POVs to Okinawa from stateside and other duty stations due to the strict and complicated GOJ laws for registering foreign made vehicles. Exchange New Car Sales runs The AAFES New Car Sales program which is a congressionally mandated quality of life program especially for service members stationed overseas. The program offers special pricing, protections and guarantees that are not available anywhere else. These models are all 100% stateside specifications and can be shipped back to the U.S. upon PCS. All models have been certified to meet Japanese registration requirements and warranty work is handled on base or by the local Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge Dealer. Since these vehicles are brought into the country Tax Free this is why they are given a license plate with the “E” designation. The ENCS Car Guys are having a huge clearance sale of all their remaining 2007 stock this weekend at the Camp Foster PX parking lot next to the PX gate. Japan National Manager Bob Hagan explains “ We launched this program about a year ago in mainland Japan and it has run very smoothly. When we launched the program this year in Okinawa we ran into some unexpected delays with the local Land Transportation Office (LTO). Though this caused us a lot of headaches we have worked through these issues and it has created a great opportunity for those interested in a new car this Christmas season. We have an excessive amount of stock on island and we have been forced to discount it all drastically. Obviously from a business standpoint this is not the best situation but we decided to make the best of it have some fun, throw a big show and give some lucky customer’s a great opportunity this weekend.
