Dead baby found in Awase PortDate Posted: 2007-12-11 The dead baby boy was found wrapped inside a black plastic bag. Authorities say the baby’s body was about 50cm long and weighed 3,000 grams. The umbilical cord was still attached, Okinawa City Police say. The boys were fishing along the shore when they spotted the plastic bag. Police say some witnesses think they may have seen the bag in the water for several days. Police say they can’t tell whether the baby was dumped at Awase Fishing Port, or if the tides brought the body in. An autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause of death. |
