Precise quality shows in Jaymil military productsDate Posted: 2007-10-05 ![]() The specifications for wearing military awards are precise, and the Department of Defense is equally strict in production quality standards. Jaymil, an Okinawa-based company, is in the forefront of businesses licensed to produce the decorations worn by men and women in the armed forces. From a humble beginning as a home business, Jaymil has expanded to a worldwide company providing everything from military ribbons and medals, to retirement boxes and plaques. Jaymil products specialize in the production of military ribbons of all sorts, various medals, awards and decorations, nametapes, embroidery products, flag, tee-shirts, coins and military gift items. Owner Mildred Tubberville started Jaymil to serve needs of military servicemen with limited access to legitimate military medals and ribbon mounting. Tubberville, who holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and also a Masters in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, jumped in to provide overseas personnel a ready means of obtaining quality products. Even for Tubberville, who had worked for McDonnell Douglas Corporation as a Methods and Process Engineering Supervisor for the MD-11 and C-17 aircraft programs, it was a challenge. DoD has exacting standards spelled out in regulations she had to follow. Undaunted, she responded two years ago to requests from Air Force personnel for silver nametags for dress uniforms. The desired nametags were available stateside, a time consuming process for delivery. Jaymil invested in machines and materials to begin producing the nametags, taking a few months to obtain the Air Force specified tags. An additional challenge: Japan’s special hazardous materials rules meant Jaymil had to import special metals and paints for the nametags. The new Air Force ABU Tiger Stripe uniform nametags are the latest in Jaymil’s arsenal. The Air Force has approved Jaymil as an authorized producer for the new nametapes. Tubberville says it’s not a problem, because of her strong conviction that products offered the military be of outstanding quality. In light of such dedication and tenacity, Jaymil products and services is a winning choice for all your commemorative needs. Jaymil’s main offices are at 2-2-16 Isa, Ginowan City, with the company being licensed both in Japan and the United States. Jaymil operates two distribution facilities in North and South Carolina. On Okinawa, two easy access offices serve the military communities. A central Kadena location is in the USO building. A second is located on Camp Hansen. To visit the main office in Ginowan, take Gate 5 from Camp Foster toward Naha on Highway 58. Jaymil is just past the 3rd traffic light, on the right hand side. Jaymil welcomes inquiries at (098) 942-8580 or visit to www.jaymilproducts.com online. |
