Magic facial transformation brings beauty, relieves stress

A trip to the beauty shop should be and exhilarating experience and the team at Oriental Magic knows just how to make it happen.

The secret is in the hairdresser’s skills, and how everything is custom tailored to the client. Nam Seon Kwon is a veteran hairdresser who, together with esthetician Asuka Furugen, knows how to turn the beauty shop visit into a work of art, enhancing the client’s beauty while melting away the stresses of daily life.

A typical custom visit includes hair styling, make up, eye brow treatment and facial care. The friendly staff makes nervousness vanish as it treats each customer as if she’s the only one being served. The background music and light atmosphere, together with casual banter, make the time fly by.

Facials are a specialty, and the wonderful scents permeate the air, and the client actually feels the skin going soft and beginning to glow. Eye brow wax treatments are meticulous, and not the painful experience some have come to expect. Furugen says the secret is regular weekly treatments, as hair grows slower. She says waxing is less painful than shaving.

The true transformation comes with the make up, stylized to the customer’s face, skin tone and eyes. As one customer describes the experience, “the make ups were natural and suited me well. I thought I was looking at somebody else when I was myself in the mirror.”

Haircuts run at \3,500 at Oriental magic, while hair designs and coloring are \8,000 and up, depending on customer’s desires. Hair treatments and straightening, but no cut, costs \10,000. Facial massages begin at \3,000, and from \5,000 with pack. Eye brow wax is \3,000, while a full wax including face, upper body and legs is \4,000. Make up sessions start at \4,000. Children’s hair extensions are also available.

Oriental Magic takes both dollars and yen, as well as credit cards. They are located next to Reggae Bar Flex near Araha Beach. Their telephone number is 098-926-4545.
