"AT ONE" gospel group set to shoot first video

Date Posted: 2003-08-15

A local gospel band comprised entirely of military members is set to begin shooting its first video. The group, At One, is looking for people who are interested in taking part. The video is set to begin production next month and will be the first of two videos planned to be made on Okinawa.

The bandleader, Dathan Boyd, is looking for people from all walks of life. He says dancers are needed along, with people who have choreography skills. Boyd stresses that the message is not targeted at churches or Christians. “The first song, ‘The Church Is Not A Clique’, will depict a very truthful message but is not an attack on any church organization,” says Boyd. “A lot of times people feel uncomfortable going to church because of the way they are treated or looked at. We are supposed to accept people the way they are, yet we are so critical and judgmental sometimes.”

He says the group’s motivations are to make it easy and comfortable for people to go to churches to worship. Boyd also says that the group’s first CD is completed and available soon. “We have completed our debut CD, and are ready to move forward. He says the CD was to have been released early this month, but that there have been delays. “We’ll let everyone know just as soon as it’s ready,” he promised. Anyone wanting to participate in the video can call Dathan Boyd at 090-1945-5461.
