NTT Docomo slashes service prices 50%

Date Posted: 2007-07-30

Starting August 22, NTT Docomo cellular phone customers will see their monthly bills cut in half.

NTT Docomo officials say basic payments will be halved, but note there is one condition: customers must have a minimum two-year Docomo contract to be eligible for the new rates. Docomo is adjusting its family discount program, called Family Discount Max, changing its name to Fami Discount Max50.

“We need to keep our customers,” NTT Docomo President Ikuo Nakamura says, “and not let them go to other companies. That’s why we decided on the 50% discount for basic payments.” KDDI and Softbank Company have already instituted 50% reductions in their basic payment plans.
