Villages argue property ownership with companyDate Posted: 2007-07-26 The company president is taking the two villages to court, charging “thse villages demolished my office and gate on my property, located around the World Heritage Place.” He was referring to the Nakagusuku Village castle ruins lands, which he says he owns, and the villages say he doesn’t. The villages say they didn’t demolish anything, but asked the man “What are you talking about?” They say he doesn’t have any property in the area. The villages say they purchased the land in 1992, and paid the man’s company. He disagrees, insisting “no, no, we didn’t get any money from the villages, so it’s still mine.” That’s why, he says, he built a gate and fence, and closed off the entrance to the castle ruins, so tourists couldn’t get inside. The gate and his office are taken away, and he’s upset. A court will hear the case and decide who the real property owner is. |
