Kitchen store aims to brighten parties

Date Posted: 2007-07-12

Appearance can be everything, particularly in planning a special party or dinner.

Kitchen Supply Anchor Shoji has ideas and solutions to creating special events, right down to the napkins, placemats and chopstick holders. The kitchen store located next to Futenma Housing Area caters to everyone from restaurant owners and professional caterers to individuals wanting to organize a special party or dinner, offering a variety of goods and services, including advice on how to make a function truly memorable.

Anchor Shoji has one full floor dedicated to the homeowner, with kitchen and dining room items attractively displayed and arranged to let customers envision how the products would look in a residential setting. The store specializes in Japanese items, including chopsticks, place mats, lunch boxes, Japanese tea sets, coasters and more.

One section features displays with food already on the plates, giving visitors an idea how it would all look on tables at their own parties. Anchor Shoji prides itself on carrying only high quality merchandise at reasonable prices. Manager Kazumi Takano says ” I’m happy to see that Americans buy Japanese tableware and use them as decoration in their houses. We are proud to offer these items.”

Anchor Shoji’s new sale begins tomorrow, featuring chopsticks for ¥315, place mats ¥1,050 and up, Japanese tea sets ¥3,675, Coasters ¥126 and up, and lunch boxes for ¥2,100. The sale runs through July 22nd.

The basement is a restaurant owner’s dream. Professionals can find not only kettles and pots and pans of all shapes and sizes, but the little things, as well. Anchor Shoji carries take out boxes, specialty coffee mugs, and even cocktail umbrellas.

Anchor Shoji Kitchen Supply is open 365 days a year. It accepts yen and credit cards. There’s plenty of free parking available. The store is located one half block off Route 81, across from Futenma Base Housing, next to the Philippines Consulate.
