Date Posted: 2002-01-31
A replacement for a road on Tokashiki Island that was destroyed by a typhoon last year was officially opened on Jan. 23. The new road is 830 meters long and connects Aharen with Tokashiki. The opening ceremony was attended by approximately 100 onlookers including students from both areas. The road’s repair is expected not only to make daily life easier but also to revitalize the island’s main industry, tourism.
