Japan reclaims oldest man and woman titlesDate Posted: 2007-07-05 The 114-year-old Fukuchi woman, says the Guinness World Records, became the oldest a few months ago following the death of American Emma Faust Tillman. Fukuchi Mayor Koji Urata presented a certificate to Minagawa at the special nursing home in Fukuoka Prefecture, where she lives. A Fukuchi native, she raised five children with a home grown flowers and vegetables business. The oldest man in the world title is held by 111-year-old Tomoji Tanabe of Miyakonojo, in Miyazaki Prefecture. He was awarded the oldest person certificate from the British Guinness World Records last month. |
