International cell calls a better deal with Softbank

Date Posted: 2007-05-18

Softbank Telecom, a specialist in Military Access Prepaid Calling Cards, is now making international cell phone calls a thrifty proposition.

While using cell phones for long distance calls to friends and families has been a costly process, Softbank has enhanced its MA Prepaid Calling Cards to serve mobile phone users. The new rate with Softbank Telecom cards is a flat 20˘ per minute rate for calls to the United States. Company officials say there are no charges passed to cell phones by mobile providers for Softbank MA Prepaid Calling Card calls.

A special 10% premium price on $50 Softbank Telecom phone cards is being offered for a limited time, as the company’s way of introducing the new services. Once the special supply of premium cards is sold, Softbank will continue offering a 5% discount.

The new calling cards will be available late this month. Once the new card is on the market, the old MA cards will be removed from vending machines. Softbank says customers can distinguish between the two by looking for the “New” logo on the top right corner of the new MA cards. Old MA cards will expire November 30th. Unused minutes cannot be transferred to the new cards.

The access number for new MA Prepaid Calling Cards will change. New access numbers will be listed on the back. Details of country-to-country rates are available at the www.mil.softbanktelecom.co.jp website, or by calling the Military Customer Service Center at DSN 646-2990.
