Full service spa opens doors on Camp Foster

Date Posted: 2007-03-29

Relaxing, invigorating massage is now literally at the fingertips of service personnel and family members in central Okinawa.

Healing Spot Spa is now open on Camp Foster, offering a variety of massages, facial, and foot treatments, as well as manicures and pedicures. It opened two weeks ago in Building 200 on Camp Foster, and is operating daily 10am~8pm, operating as an AAFES concession.

The operators promise terrific service and reasonable prices, and have announced a Grand Opening Special throughout April, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 4pm. Patrons with a Healing Spot Spa coupon from Japan Update will receive a 10% discount.

Aromatherapy body massages are available in varying lengths from a half-hour to 90 minutes. Prices begin at ¥2,500. Hot stone body massages, a specialty drawn from Hawaii’s Lomi Lomi and tweaked by the local operators, are offered for similar times, with prices starting at ¥3,800 for a half-hour. An optional scalp massage is offered for only ¥1,200.

Facial treatments begin at ¥2,000 for 30 minutes, with longer 45 minutes and one hour service available. Foot treatments are offered in 30, 45, 60 and 90 minutes sessions, with a half-hour going for ¥3,000.

Michiko Kyoda thinks her side of the Healing Spot Spa will be a very popular addition to Camp Foster. A trained nails specialist endorsed by the NPO Nails Association Foundation Japan, Michiko will provide a full range of nail services. A half-hour manicure is only ¥1,700, with a French manicure ¥300 more. Acrylic sets take about 90 minutes to do, with a price of ¥4,000. She also does acrylic fills and nail repairs.

Pedicures are 40 minutes, with an easy ¥2,500 price. A spa pedicure takes 90 minutes, and costs ¥4,800. There’s also a foot paraffin service offered. Michiko says one variable in prices is the condition of a customer’s nails.

Healing Spot Spa customers can make appointments and reservations by calling 646-8046.
