US hip-hopper to perform in Naha

Lloyd Banks, a hip-hopping member of G Unit, will perform on Okinawa April 1st. Lloyd, whose works include three albums, is popular for his east coast hip-hop style. Itís his first Japan tour, with a single show scheduled for the Namura Hall in Naha City on April 1st. Advance tickets are on sale now for $45/•5,400. Tickets at the door will be $55/•6,600.

Hip-hop vibes have, since its birth in New York City, become a cultural force in the entertainment and show business industry. Banksí latest album released last October, Rotten Apple, has sold more than 300,000 copies. His two earlier albums were The Big Withdraw and The Hunger for More.

Local deejays will perform the opening acts for Banks, and The Soul Food Party Cruise at Naha Wharf will stir excitement leading into the evening. Organizers will have bus transportation available.
