Buon appetito Italiano is your private invitation

Date Posted: 2007-03-02

Enjoy your Italian meal!

Italian restaurant Marino is Okinawa’s best, and you are invited to partake of southern Europe’s most delectable cuisines. There is no single Italian cuisine; Italy was unified in 1861 and its regional specialties reflect the culture and culinary influences of each province. Fresh ingredients and produce are the key to Italy’s often imitated recipes, and are what make Marino’s a notch above all others here.

Marino’s features a variety of dishes from across Italy, including carbonara, Italian tomato with mozzarella cheese, penne arrabbiata pasta, and bacon and spinach pizza. The homemade pizzas are baked in a stone oven imported from Italy, again bringing forth the originality of Italian food.

Naples is the home of pizza, mozzarella cheese, and baqba and sfogliatelle pastries. Pizza crusts from Rome are thin, while Sicilian pizza is thicker. Pastas, lasagna and tortellini come from Emilia-Romagna. Northern pastas tend to use more butter and creams, while the southern provinces lean toward more tomato. The tasty creams, polenta, mascarpone, grana padano and parmigiano cheeses, risotto and fresh egg pasta tend to be northern specialties, also found at Marino’s.

Marino’s pasta is special. So special, its patent-pending recipe integrates Parmesan cheese, cream and yolk in a heated earthenware pot. Vegetarians are at home with Marino’s; simply tell the staff to remove meat and add more vegetables instead. The special carbonara pasta, prepared in front of customers’ eyes, is also a must.

For groups craving Italian foods, courses such as ‘Am’ore’, ‘Cheese Fondue Set’ and ‘La Marino’ are available in three different sizes to accommodate different size groups. The restaurant is also ideal for small celebrations such as birthday parties, farewell parties and surprise parties.

Marino’s has three Okinawa locations to serve customers. The main restaurant is located in Uruma City, next to San-A Gushikawa Main City. Two other branches in San-A Naha Main Place and San-A Nishihara City in Ishihara Town, are conveniently located for guests. The restaurants operate daily from 11am ~ 11pm.

Make your next dining experience Italiano. Absorb the southern European atmosphere and hospitality, and as you enter, shout ‘buono!’
