Tecmopia undergoes complete overhaul

The Tecmopia game center, known over the years as one of the premier spots on island to drop by for an afternoon or evening of gaming at its best, has undergone a complete interior overhaul. It has now been redecorated and refurnished with many new games and entertainment machines, including new and advanced "metal" games where you gamble with play tokens, up-to-date video games and a state of the art "print club" machine, or "purikura" as the locals call it. This new purikura machine will take a full shot of you from a camera either directly in front of you or overhead. For ¥400, you can keep 9, 18 or 30 exposures of your shot.

The center has many new games, so you'll surely have a good time while paying the new improved Tecmopia a visit. The metal games are by far the most popular, but purikura is very popular with the girls and the "shoot 'em up" gun games are popular with the guys. Tecmopia also has a flight simulator that will actually spin you 360 degrees as you play. The game center has many of the classic games you will find at most any game spot as well as a few of the hottest new ones.

Tecmopia will reopen its doors on Friday, Feb. 1, and will be open from 10:00 a.m. to midnight. They are located on Highway 58 south of Kadena’s Gate 1 and across the street from Camp Lester, next to the Boston Club restaurant and just across the street from our office in Mihama.
