Eight adolescents beat up school mate in Urasoe

Date Posted: 2003-08-02

Yet another case of youth violence has come to light as Urasoe Police arrested a 15-year-old boy on Monday, and questioned two other 14-year-old boys and five 13-year-old girls about beating up a 13-year-old girl. The victim reportedly suffered injuries on her face, back and legs that took two weeks in a hospital to heal.

The alleged beating took place on May 27 at a park, when the eight accused called the victim to come and meet them. One of the boys then reportedly accused the girl of looking at him the wrong way, and then attacked her. The others then joined in and kicked and beat her for about one hour. The girl’s parents filed a complaint with the police right after the incident, but it was not reported publicly before one of the boys was arrested.
