Japan Update Weekly Winners

This week we raffled away five two-ticket sets of admission to BJ League All Star pro basketball game that will be played at Ginowan City Gym on Jan. 27.

Dave Conneau, Robert E Morgan, James Moody, Jody Juliana and Kaori Uezu were the lucky winners this time.

Dave Conneau is an Air Force veteran, who currently resides in Nishihara Town and teaches English conversation class as a volunteer in his community. He has lived on Okinawa for 27 years, and is originally from Connecticut.

Robert E. Morgan in another Air Force veteran. Originally he hails from Pennsylvania, but has lived on Okinawa since 1959. He currently lives in Ginowan City.

James Moody moved to Okinawa from Jackson, Mississippi nine months ago, He says that he likes his life on the island, and lives on Camp Foster with his family. His favorite activity is playing video games with his four-year-old son on his days off.

Jody Juliana moved to Okinawa from Alberta, Canada, three years ago. She’s a resident of KAB and works for MCCS as a receptionist. Because she likes Okinawa so much, she and her family hope to extend their tour here.

Kaori Uezu is from Usuma City who works for a credit union as a financial planner. She says that “I feel very lucky to win these tickets as my niece likes basketball very much. I look forward to watching the game with her this Saturday.”

Next week we will raffle away a ¥5,000 dinner ticket for Kabab restaurant, and a ¥5,000 gift coupon for Esthetiq Salon Come Across.

The deadline of each week’s raffle is Monday at 2 p.m. and the raffle will be held soon afterwards. Those who miss the deadline will be entered in the following week’s raffle. We will contact the winners by telephone to arrange for them to pick up their prizes. The winners will also be announced in the same week’s Japan Update on Thursday.

The prizes will vary from week to week.
