Robber stabs victim but fails to get money

A robber tried to steal a manís purse in a Laundromat shop in Mihara, Naha City, Tuesday. The victim was seriously hurt and is hospitalized with a 15 cm cut on his neck.

According to Naha Police, an office worker was washing his clothes in a Laundromat shop when another man grabbed his purse from his car that was parked in front of the shop. The victim then chased the fleeing robber about 200 meters before he caught him. He managed to get his purse back but when he tried to restrain the robber he was stabbed. The robber then ran away.

An attendant at a nearby gasoline stand saw the incident and called the police and ambulance.

According to witnesses the robber seemed to be in his fifties, about 165 cm tall and heavily built. Naha Police continues to investigate the matter.
