Custom car show hits town Sunday

Date Posted: 2006-12-18

Custom car enthusiasts can pull open the storage chest and pull out the ol’ low riders for this weekend.
The American Street: Custom Car Show makes an Okinawa appearance Sunday at Chatan Dome, a part of the Chatan Town Athletic Park. The event runs 2~9pm on Sunday.

Aside from the cars exhibition itself, the show features a car-bouncing tournament featuring rides with the most extreme hydraulics and suspension. There will also be entertainment in form of an arm wrestling tournament and hip-hop performances, and booths set up selling numerous American products.

It’s not too late to register a vehicle for the show. Exhibition and tournament registration can be done via telephone, (098) 929-0104. Organizers say the event is suitable for family members of all ages.

Advance tickets are ¥1,000 for adults and high school students, or ¥1,200 at the door. Tickets for junior high school students are ¥500. Children are free. Tickets are available at Takara Records or Pizza In. Further information is available from the American Motor Show Association, at the registration number listed above.
