Runaway tire causes traffic jam in FutenmaDate Posted: 2006-09-22 The Friday afternoon incident occurred on Highway 330, when a one-meter high tire accidentally broke off the trailer moving from Camp Foster to Futenma Marine Corps Air Station. The tire rolled down the street nearly 170 meters before jumping a sidewalk and stopping. Officials say an hour-long heavy traffic jam was caused by the trailer, which couldn’t move without the wheel. A beauty shop owner saw the tire break free and roll past her shop. There were no injuries in the incident. |
