Naval Criminal Investigative Service partnering with Okinawa Police, offering $2,000 reward

MARINE CORPS BASE CAMP S. D. BUTLER, OKINAWA, Japan – The Naval Criminal Investigative Service is working closely with the Okinawa City Police Department and is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the robbery of a local taxi driver July 4.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:15 a.m. on July 4th outside of Kadena Air Base’s Gate 2. The driver of the taxi described the suspects as English-speaking, dark-skinned males. One suspect was lean and wore dark pants, a dark shirt and a light-colored do-rag, or bandana, on his head. The second suspect was heavyset and wore a light-colored jogging suit.

The Naval Criminal Investigative Service has worked with various Okinawa Prefectural Police agencies and continues to cooperate and assist in this case and all other investigations where it may be of assistance.
