Nakaima makes it official: he is a gubernatorial candidateDate Posted: 2006-09-01 Hirokazu Nakaima has been courted for months by the ruling party’s candidate selection committee. He agreed this week, telling both the committee chairman and the Okinawa members of the Diet he would accept the nomination. The 67-year-old Nakaima said “after pondering the request to run, I decided to humbly accept the request. I will do my best for you.” The announcement of Nakaima’s decision was immediately made to the General Assembly, where more than 130 groups supporting current governor Keiichi Inamine were in session. |
