Far East Bodybuilding Heats up on SundayDate Posted: 2006-08-03 ![]() ![]() ![]() The 11th Annual Far East Bodybuilding Competition will answer the question ‘Who are the best bodybuilders in the Pacific’ as competitors are drawn to Okinawa from bases across the Asia Pacific Rim. Tickets to view the event go on sale at 1:30pm Sunday at the Butler Theater. Tickets for the 6pm competition are $7. Doors open at 4pm. The Gunners Fitness Center staff on Camp Foster is presenting the event. Bodybuilders will be judged on presentation, muscular development and symmetry. First through fifth place finishers in each male and female weight division will be honored. Prizes include a home gym courtesy of Hoist, tanning session tickets from Master Sun Tanning Salon, massage gift certificates courtesy of Islander Okinawa, free karaoke courtesy of Big Echo, nail salon gift certificates from Cocok, and an overnight stay for two at YYY iE Resort. Competition sponsors include Hoist, Islander Okinawa, Harley-Davidson, Nfi Photography, Pai Water Oasis, Cocok, Karaoke Entertainment Big Echo, Tanning Salon Master Sun, YYY iE Restort and Verizon. The seven judges bring a wealth of experience to the competition. Head Judge Gunnery Sergeant Jamie Troxel has been competing for 17 years, and has been winning the lightweight division events since 1992. Master Gunnery Sergeant Glen Moore holds Western Armed Forces Middle Weight and Far East Bodybuilding championship titles. Ear Strong has earned middleweight titles in both Yokusuka and Nevada, and is Camp Foster’s Fitness Coordinator. Cliff Holcomb has more than 15 yerars in health and bodybuilding activities, while Akira Shiroma holds titles form England, New Zealand and the Far East. Judge Shimoji Takemitsu was 1995 Mr. Kadena, and 1985 Mr. Okinawa. Sabrina Gibson has been in the bodybuilding, powerlifting and fitness competitions for ten years, holding trophies from Texas, U.S. Air Forces Europe, and Budapest . |
