Army Community Group promotes quality of life

Date Posted: 2006-07-22

The Army Community Group in Okinawa is teaming up with a local business to generate revenues to support its quality of life programs.

The non-profit organization supports community programs for Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine families on Okinawa, as well as local organizations needing financial assistance. The Carpet Gallery, a company owned and operated by the Butts Brothers, has volunteered to help the group.

A two-day Carpet Gallery in-store fundraiser Saturday and Sunday is expected to raise much needed money for the local group. The Carpet Gallery, which manufactures fine quality carpets, has served the American military communities in Japan for more than 30 years. It has pledged ten percent of its weekend purchases to be donated to the Army Community Group.

Customers visiting the Carpet Gallery showroom located close to Camp Fosterís Legion Gate will be able to decorate their homes with a large selection of genuine, hand-made carpets and rugs from Persia, Pakistan and Afghanistan, while saving thousands of dollars over stateside prices. The special fundraiser runs both days 11am ~ 6pm.

Army Community Group is using the event as an opportunity to attract new members. Details are available by calling Kathy at 633-5052, or Amy at 632-3319.
